Started in 2016 by Ron Kirkemo, Nick Smith, Gabe Jensen-Wachspress, Robert Lowery and Jeffery Scheirer as a project for their George Mason University course, SMRT was swept the eastern seaboard. The mission was simple: America’s education system was on the brink of collapse from fraud and misappropriations by the very proctors of our nation’s education and politicians could not be trusted to resolve the crisis. The private system is the best place for education, but the funding is tied to the government. By strategically mapping out the stakeholders and how they could work together in a cohesive manner outside of the political arena proved to be the winning solution.

     Starting as a pilot program for Prince William County Public Schools, the systems credibility and merit spread like fire. Within the first year 6 school districts in 3 states- including Washington DC- Had been enamored by the simple and effective system.

      Currently Smart is the fastest growing private educational consulting firm. Although a private company the institution has received many awards for philanthropy and community service and funding effort to improve the education of the nation’s least privileged youths. Awards include the Ben Goulden Award for Educational Leadership, the 2017 INnewVATION Entrepreneurial Excellence and the 2018 Congressional Outreach for Change in America Award.
